By late yesterday crews had managed to get service almost completely back up for the thousands of Appalachian Power customers in Kanawha County who lost Monday.

By 4:30 p.m., the company said, field workers had gotten 4,990 of the 6.400 customers hit by loss of electric service are restored.
As of late yesterday, the company said 280 customers in the Patrick Street and Florida Street more of areas and nearly 1,130 in Charleston on Central Avenue had no service.

Charleston’s West Side
This Monday service has been resumed for 5 thousands mostly Charleston ‘s West Side customers.
At about 2:50 p.m. a spokesman for Appalachian Power said almost 2,100 customers in the Patrick and Florida Street areas had their service restored.

Of the 3, 800 customers still without service at 3.15 p.m. were within the Central Avenue area according to Appalachian Power. Service should be completely restored by 4:30 p.m. in that area, they said.
Complaint
Crews were working on Monday to take power were most out of 6200 Appalachian Power service in Kanawha County, W.Va.
Out of nearly 6,200 customers remained without power at 2:15 p.m., Appalachian Power spokesman said. The outage is concentrated mostly on Charleston’s West Side and that one current report has some traffic lights not functioning.
He added that an outage which occurred earlier Monday impacting about 4,800 customers in South Charleston was fixed before 1 p.m.
There are no reports of other major outages in West Virginia.
