Apex Legends Bug Erases Player Accounts, Vanished Earned Rewards on First April 2024
A new bug in Apex Legends will wipe out the account of the players who encounter it – removing every trace of progress or content they had earned.
Many people are reporting the crippling fault on the Apex Legends(EA Sports) subreddit: their in-game statistics are being adversely affected, paid or even self-earned cosmetics gets binned, ranked progress is forgotten along with all other vital account data.

The error caused the in-game store to malfunctioner. Respawn points out that the teams of Apex Legends are currently investigating and will inform players as soon as possible when they have an update on this problem.
The cause of the glitch is still unclear. However, the game-breaking bug took place after a new season and April Fools’ update.
It may even have something to do with cross-progression. For instance, up till now the Apex Legends official account was seen to have replied to a player mentioning both cross-progression and how far he got.
For now, players are even afraid to log in and dare try out its function. There are many fans who have turned to social media to vent their anger at the game.
After being hacked in the middle of an official Apex Legends tournament, the professional players expressed frustration for those events causing them to feel anything but good. The event was finally postponed later that day; hacker just said his intention was “for fun”.
Just last month the Respawn team behind Apex Legends also shed staff.

The disappointment for longtime fans is this glitch today. Adding insult to injury for some fans, since Apex Legends just tried to stir up interest with its largest change when releasing Breakout in late 2021.
