Light Kits Shine: Destiny 2’s Strategy to Move Beyond Starter Pack Scandal

In the past few months artistic activities and even a number questionable decision, but added to all this, Destiny 2’s Starter Pack is the most scandalous ever. They were trying to spin the micro transaction as a must-have entry set for new players, but in fact it was a total waste and they in no way deserved $15. However, with the new New Light Kits incoming on April 9 as part of Destiny 2 into the Light, it looks like Bungie has caught on to this. Not only free for Newbie’s, New Light Kits are going to give new players on PS5 and Xbox a proper helping hand as well–they’ll make it less intimidating to start playing Destiny.

Destiny’s new player experience has long been one of its failings. With its wealth of mechanics, numerous types of activities, and a sprawling ten-year storyline, it is a complex game for newcomers (or indeed returning Guardians). This is an area where Bungie has been trying to improve. For those who are veterans of the FPS, or have friends who are already playing Destiny 2, it is soon to be placed among the best Xbox games and the best PS5 games. But if you’re entering without much idea of what awaits you, we wouldn’t blame anyone for staggering back out of the entire bewildering odyssey only a couple of hours in.

Some Guy Almost every player finds Destiny 2 a lot to understand at first. And even at that, the bigger problem is being so far behind everyone else who plays the game, in terms of your own strength or equipment. But rather than turn the competition into an exercise in futility, New Light Kits seek to level the playing field by providing players one free set of prefab gear. Compared to the horrendous (and if we´re being honest, deceitful) Starter Pack that launched in 2020, this is actually almost good for all multiplayer game modes.

NLKs´ basic appeal lies in letting you choose among the Solar, Arc, or Void subclasses — with lots of Aspects, Fragments unlocked and only small numbers of each left for you to get. Yet Stasis, Strand-based means type abilities just can´t be chosen at all. upon receiving them, you also get Legendary armor, two weapons, and even one Exotic weapon. We haven’t gotten any official word on which Exotics are inside, or if it’s just a random pull from among Destiny 2´s huge pool of Exotic weapons.

Consider the Destiny 2 Starter Pack last year (and the quick removal of it following considerable public anger). ok, it had three pretty good Exotic weapons. But then what? Just paltry amounts of easily obtained game currency or some cosmetic items like ships will not necessarily emerge as useful to new players in a sharply complained-about— and unhelpful— ´starter pack´. ($14.99 for the set, and poor value at that).

However, much more is going on in Into The Light as well— this is one of those changes that we can´t wait to see. We´ve been playing this game for years! And as far as healthy conditions go for the game, we look upon it only as a plus if players new to Destiny 2 can get to their ultimate goal along the ride all the quicker.

After The Final Shape´s release date was pushed back, we thought Into The Light would just barely be old filler material. Yet it has turned into possibly the most useful and most important update that Destiny 2 has seen in the last few years.
