Kevin Bacon, the 450-Pound Wanderer, Steals the Spotlight on Home Security Footage

In Hollywood, actor Kevin Bacon is a big star. On a farm in Wisconsin’s Kenosha County, one massive pig named Kevin Bacon had escaped his pen.

Weighing over four hundred pounds, the porker had wandered from his enclosure last week. He aimlessly ambled down the road, where his bulky figure was noticed on a home security camera belonging to the Molgaard family.

“My wife spotted an unusual shaped moving on our driveway camera walking along our garage,” said Jake Molgaard, the homeowner, describing the event. He added that the stranger “ended up coming right up to our back door unannounced.”

When an oversized four-legged animal knocks on your door late on a Friday evening, what does one do?

“My wife started feeding him immediately,” Molgaard recalled. At only 40 years old, he owned a local business but had become accustomed to taking in stray animals.

After observing Kevin chow down on apples, rice cakes, tomatoes and carrots, Molgaard realized they needed to identify the pig’s owner.

Though not a farmer himself, Molgaard knew agricultural land surrounded his Brighton property, located some sixty kilometers south of Milwaukee. He called a farming friend who not only knew Kevin’s owner but had his contact information.

Unfortunately the owner was away, but approved of the family keeping Kevin secure until his return. Additionally, the owner advised that Kevin enjoyed cookies, marshmallows, and other sweets as incentives.

Armed with tasty treats, the Molgaards escorted Kevin down a trail and side road, aided by the local sheriff arriving as a safety precaution.

In a Facebook post, the Kenosha County sheriff’s office shared about receiving the “typical rural summons.” Deputies happily posed for pictures with Kevin before departing.

With the additional help of Molgaard’s sixteen-year-old daughter riding Kevin’s hairy back to urge him along, the unlikely trio plus officers made the mile-long journey through darkness. Following two hours of effort, they delivered Kevin safely to his pen using a flashlight to find the way.

“He is a massive but gentle creature,” Molgaard reflected. Grateful to be reunited with Kevin, the owner allowed daily donut deliveries to the pig by the family.
