Severe Weather Strikes Ohio, Leading to Cloudy Conditions on Easter Morning at 6 AM

This afternoon, It stormed in north central Ohio, and there was a deluge of severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings in succession from Cambridge. Reports of quarter size hail came from a storm that went to Marion, to Mt. Gilead, to Mt. Vernon, to Coshocton, to Cambridge. The severe thunderstorm watch has been cancelled for central Ohio. The threat of severe weather is over for the night. Tomorrow night activity will re-fire, but most of Easter is dry and in the 60s. Monday and Tuesday are Weather Alert days; the same front will be in our area.

It starts to look as an overcast day on Easter. Our weather on Easter Sunday will be good for the afternoon egg hunts with high temperatures in sixties. Then in the evening showers and thunderstorms will first develop, unaccompanied electric storms are also possible. The Storm Prediction Center has Central Ohio at a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) on Sunday. Storms are capable of producing hail and gusty winds.

The low-pressure system moves through the Plains, rain showers or thundershowers continue right up till Monday. The low tracks from the Plains into the Midwest, so that it still stays wet and stormy up to Tuesday. The main threat is the threat of hail and gusty winds–a low-end risk for severe weather may be present from Monday to Tuesday.

The rain sticks around not only Wednesday but also Thursday too as low pressure ascends into the Great Lakes area. North winds along the Lake & its bordering counties look to lock us up in clouds, which probably will not budge this afternoon because of daytime heating from above. Temperatures will gradually trend cooler, by 6 or 7 this morning In the upper 40s Depending on temperatures, some snow might even mix in during that early part of the day. From these waves of rain showers and thunderstorms, rainfall totals will vary from: 1-3”.
