Fan Hit by Travis Kelce’s Golf Ball
A fan who was bleeding from the eye after getting hit by Travis Kelce’s mishit at a celebrity golf tournament earlier this month said she nearly ‘passed out’ when addressing her statement.
Katie Hauss, 37 years of age and accompanying her husband at the American Century Championship on Lake Tahoe was hit in head by a wayward shot from Kelce that left her ‘a lot of blood’ as well she needed medical attention.

Video showed the three-time Super Bowl champion consoling her as she got treatment on the course, then helping Reed to her feet with staff accompanying them off the track.
Hauss shared her story with PEOPLE and spoke of how it unfolded on Lake Tahoe that day.
She says: ‘I put my hand to the back of my head and there was lots of blood, When I got hit, it hurt right away. Luckily, I was so focused on trying not to pass out that at the time I didn’t really know what had happened.
“Then I heard people yelling that it was Travis Kelce’s golf ball shot and ‘Oh my god, That girl just got hit in the head,'” he said.
“i tried to keep it very mellow and told my husband that i thought things were fine, just really painful. When I placed my hand to touch my head there was a high volume of blood. After I knelt down to try and get my bearings a Good Samaritan — he had to have been some kind of Dr or 1st responder at the least, walked over and squatted next to me & right away put pressure on my head wound.
” He was like STAY STILL and they were yelling for the EMTs I am so grateful and thankful to that man for assisting me, someone he did not know, but I hope someday I can express my gratitude towards him!
Both Travis and brother Jason appeared by her side ‘immediately’ after being struck on the head, Hauss affirmed that even formerly asking if she was ok multiple times.
Travis is then said to have quipped the least he could do was take a photo with the spectator and two posed together for () after their unfortunate run-in.
Beverley Hauss said: ‘Travis explained that he didn’t feel right about smiling because of the situation. I felt really bad because even though I knew it was an accident and that Kaden is a pretty cool guy from what we have talked, it must not feel great to airball in front of everyone.
Hauss went to the hospital after being told by medical officials that she should be examined for a possible fracture or internal bleeding, and tests showed then that she had suffered stitches where her hand was cut open and also sustained a concussion.
More than a week after the incident, she is recovering and already feeling ‘a lot better’.
Hauss was open to the 16th hole at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course when Kelce’s drive initiated a spot in the back of her head, as one of many big names taking off with partaking in that week’s celebrity competition on course.
Believe it or not, Travis actually gave Jason some advice on a recent episode of New Heights before the tournament began.
This is my first time out in Lake Tahoe, do you have any tips? Jason asked his brother.
Travis joked: ‘I would say don’t feel bad if you punch somebody over that purchased the ticket’
There are a bunch of these amateurs out here that aren’t good enough to be playing golf so don’t worry about it” was Travis’ next. ‘People have been hit before. They got whatever it’s called EMTs, they set up right there at every hole. Everybody will be fine.’
